DPSG Palam Vihar participated in Blue Bells Model United Nations- a two day conference on 28th and 29th September 2019 which was held at Blue Bells Model School, Sector 4, Gurugram. The conference had 9 committees and 400+ participants from more than 9 schools. The committees were UNGA, UNW, UNHRC, UNODC, UNSC, NATO, IWC, R & W and Lok Sabha.
The first day of the conference was power packed where the delegates delivered their opening speeches and presented their stands on their agendas. Being the representative of their country or a leader, this conference helped them to look at a topic through logical perspective and groom their leadership skills.
On the second day, the main motive of the conference i.e. the solution of agenda was taken up. The conference ended with a ceremony presided over by Retd Indian Army officer VSM, SM Major General GD Bakshi.
Closing ceremony was incorporated by an award ceremony where the delegates were recognized for their excellence in the committee. Monika Aggarwal as USA in UNW won the ‘Best Delegate Award’. Mohak Dua as USA in UNGA won the ‘High Commendation’.
Gunjan Yadav as Akhilesh Yadav in Lok Sabha, Palak Jaggi as USA in UNHRC, Arushi Vijay as Turkey in UNHRC and Jai Anguarala as USA in NATO were awarded with ‘Special Mention’. Bhumi Bhatt as Romania in UNW, Srishti Kalakoti as Yemen in UNW, Devesh as Senegal in UNGA, Lisha as Bangladesh in UNODC and Arjun Dabas as USA in UNSC were felicitated with the ‘Best Position Paper’ award.
The school was awarded with ‘Best Active Participation School Award’ for having the max number of delegates i.e. 60 in the conference. All the delegates showed great enthusiasm wherein majority of the participants were novice.
