AI workshop organised for students of class VIII
A workshop on Artificial Intelligence was conducted by Mr. Manish for the students of class 8th in DPSG PV.
Mr. Manish started interacting with the students, asking them about their knowledge and understanding of the term ‘Artificial Intelligence’, commonly known as ‘AI’. The students also suggested some examples.
The resource person gave a brief talk on the concepts of AI. He also discussed various Artificial Intelligence projects which work on human traits such as the ability to reason, learn from past instances, form perceptions and make informed decisions based on available data. Computer-based game of chess, weather warning stations, medical diagnosis and space exploration are few of its examples.
He also demonstrated an AI concept of facial recognition. He and his team showed a device called ‘Charlie’ invented by him & his team.
After the demonstration, he answered queries put up by the students about the device such as how the device was developed, how long did it take, etc. Mr. Manish explained that the device was programmed using Python, which is a software for developing AI applications and his team of five took two months to develop it.
Mr. Manish told the students that it is also possible for them to develop such applications and encouraged them to start developing small programs for devices of their interest.
